The book reviews the reasons for the success
or failure of a range of recent energy efficiency programs in developing
countries and economies in transition. It also draws heavily on the
cross-exchanges organized by the 3 Country Energy Efficiency Project.
The book attempts to synthesize lessons learned from the many practical
experiences shared during the project cross-exchanges by seasoned
professionals working on energy efficiency in Brazil, China and India, and
the thoughts of these practitioners on how to overcome the obstacles faced.
The book goes beyond those experiences to review lessons learned in other
recent energy efficiency programs in China, Hungary, Romania, India,
Lithuania, United States, Canada, Brazil, and Sri Lanka.
